Questions about your newborn photoshoot

When should I book my newborn session?

I recommend pregnant mamas book their newborn photoshoot as early as their second trimester. As a newborn photographer I don’t book a session date until the arrival of baby. I limit the number of newborn bookings I take per month so to ensure your spot get in contact as soon as possible.

What is the best age for a newborn photo session?

To get the typical, sleepy newborn photos we’ve grown to love the best age for a newborn photoshoot is between 5-18 days of age. Still reach out if your baby falls outside of this range. I’ve photographed older and younger babies in a classic newborn photo style.

How long does a newborn photoshoot take?

My newborn photo sessions are baby led. I have a typical posing flow that I follow and not all babies do all poses. If baby doesn’t like some poses I will move on to other poses. A typical session will take 2-3 hours.

What should I bring to my newborn session?

Bring anything baby may need such as diapers, formula, etc. I provide all the props and wraps needed for the photoshoot. If you have anything sentimental you wish for me to include in your baby pictures let me know and I will work it into the session plan.

Can I choose colours or themes for my baby pictures?

Yes! Before your newborn photo session we have a consult where all of your wishes are discussed. Then I plan a photoshoot that incorporates your wishes for your photos.
